Helping individuals live life on their own terms.

Disability Information Service in Perthshire (D.I.S.I.P.) is a recognised Scottish charity. It was established by people with disabilities to resolve some of the problems that they themselves had encountered in obtaining information. To read more about us please click here.

D.I.S.I.P. was created to offer a one stop signposting shop, covering all forms and ages of disability. We provide an information enquiry service covering extensive topics relating to disability, assisting individuals to make informed decisions, relative to their circumstances and improve the quality of their life. You can read more about this service on the Enquiry Services Page here.

The success of D.I.S.I.P. has been paramount in allowing us to develop our service by extending our remit into specifically supporting individuals living with a long-term health condition to self-manage. The concept of "self management" is at the core of this new service. We support individuals to develop skills through our six week self-management courses and fortnightly peer support group. You can read more about this service on the Long-Term Conditions Page here.

We are piloting a local community forum for people in Perth & Kinross to share their knowledge and experience on all aspects of disability. Why not sign up and see if you can help others and yourself.
